Promise - Biodiversity you support

Through our products, we aim to create a better future for nature and people.
As a testament to this philosophy, OFLA aims to donate 10% of its sales (excluding tax) to activities that protect biodiversity.
It's a firm commitment from us to help your choices become a silent gesture towards the future of our ecosystem.
Why do we aim to donate 10% of sales?
- Regarding the "10%" numerical target -
From prehistoric times to the present, human society has benefited greatly from the Earth's ecosystems, from the supply of air, food, and water to the foundations of industry and culture. However, over the past 50 years, humans have altered ecosystems at an unprecedented speed and scale. As a result, marine pollution, forest loss, and other issues have led to the rapid loss of biodiversity on a global scale, with one million of the approximately 100 million species on Earth said to be at risk of extinction within the next few decades.
Although environmental protection efforts are being implemented in various places, the loss of biodiversity is accelerating. The situation shows that current efforts are insufficient. To make even a small change in this situation, we believe that continuous generation of conservation funds through corporate business activities and more proactive contributions are necessary, and have set a target of "10%."
- Why "sales"? -
When it is stated as "part of the profits," the definition of "profits" is unclear (products? A company's activities over the course of a year?). In addition, accounting manipulations such as profit compression may be used to reduce taxes, and information is often not disclosed to the purchaser.
To ensure transparency and effectiveness, OFLA aims to cover 10% of product sales (before tax) , and will clearly state where the product will be sent and how much (as a percentage) it will be sent to in the product description.
-
Turn everyone's choices into will.
Putting a firm will into your everyday choices. Donating from sales, which is an unchanging fact, rather than from profits, which are subject to fluctuations, is to ensure that your will is conveyed directly and without any manipulation.
-
Make business part of the cycle.
We will return the blessings we receive from nature back to nature. Our business will be designed as part of this cycle.
-
Promises, transparency .
What we think and where we are headed - we believe that being transparent about all of this is a courtesy to those who purchase our products, and is the beginning of a dialogue with our customers.
Donations are not "surplus capacity," but a commitment that is integrated into the project from the very beginning .
Donation Recipient Selection Policy
OFLA prioritizes donations to organizations that are working to conserve biodiversity based on academic knowledge and scientific evidence, as well as organizations that are rooted in the local community .
Rather than short-term activities or measures based on image alone, we support practical conservation activities that are backed by research results, survey data, and actual results, leading to sustainable and concrete results.
The selection of donation recipients is based on an emphasis on expertise, transparency, sustainability, regionality, and clarity of outcome indicators, and we will continue to update these criteria as necessary.
How donations work
- Target: Online store sales (excluding tax)
- Donation rate: 10% of sales. The donation rate will be set for each product and will be clearly stated on each product page.
- Timing: Reach a certain number of sales or make a quarterly donation
- Scope: Prioritize the protection of rare species and ecosystems, and gradually expand the scope
The percentage, target, and frequency will be optimized according to sales conditions and partner requests. Any changes will be announced in advance.
Transparency and Reporting
- Donation ratio, donation recipient, and use will be clearly stated on this page and on the product page
- A summary report (period, receipt summary, activity highlights) will be published after the donation is made.
- Links to receipts and activity reports will be posted where possible.
- If a donation recipient disbands or ceases operations, we will notify you in advance and make appropriate changes.
Donation recipients and protection targets
Chapter 1: A living memory of the Ice Age, with the Japanese rock ptarmigan.
Hiroshi Nakamura International Ornithological Research Institute × Japanese Rock Ptarmigan

The story of our first support begins with the Japanese rock ptarmigan, an icon of Japan's alpine ecosystem.
Protecting ptarmigan doesn't just save one bird, it protects the delicate natural habitat in which they live - it protects the entire web of life.
OFLA supports the Nakamura Hiroshi International Ornithological Research Institute, a general incorporated foundation led by Professor Hiroshi Nakamura (Professor Emeritus, Shinshu University), a leading expert in ptarmigan research. They continue to carry out sound activities based on scientific knowledge, such as the reintroduction of ptarmigans into the wild in the Central Alps.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q. When will the donation be made?
A. This will be done when a certain number of sales are reached or every quarter and will be reported on this page.
Q. Are the donation recipients fixed?
A. We plan to expand the scope of coverage in the future, and will add and review it as necessary.
Q: How is it calculated?

Q. Will the trail be made public?
A. After the donation is made, we will provide a summary on this page and contact purchasers individually by email.
